Betty Rocks Port Macquarie

Mar 15, 2013

Connections of the 4yo Collate mare Betty Rock's, are not second guessing their decision to transfer to the Marc Quinn stable, after celebrating a victory in their first outing.

Betty Rocks had came through a nice trial at Taree finishing 2nd of 11, but all roads led to Port for her first assignment with Marc.

Beautifully ridden by Port Macquarie cup winning hoop Daniel Edmonds, the pair box seated in the LADIES IN RACING MAGAZINE F&M CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1200m event, sitting just of the leaders in a comfortable position, eyeing a trail into the race whenever the opportunity presented itself.

They sat quietly behind the pace makers until around the 400m mark, that's when the combination decided to show what a difference a Quinn turned out horse can posses, and leading down the straight Betty Rocks relished the change of atmosphere and in a twinkling had put lengths on the other competitors, and although sent out around 3-1, showed all at the track that the price was beginning to look attractive, as the duet saluted the judge with arrogant ease, scoring by 3.5 lengths back to the second elect, Gentle Melody, with a further 1.5 lengths back to the third favourite Al's Watch.

Marc will look at how the mare pulls up before selecting Betty Rocks next assignment, but we are all looking forward to how she responds next time round.
