Pentasia To Take Part In Roy Higgins Quality At Randwick

Port Macquarie trainer Marc Quinn will make the trip to Randwick on Saturday, 15 March with one runner contesting the Roy Higgins Tribute Quality over 1200m, Christian Reith will pilot, jumping from barrier six, the weather is currently overcast with a current track reading at this stage of a slow 7 the rail will be in the true position.
A field of 15 at the moment have accepted to participate in the event named in Honor of Jockey Roy Higgins who died on Saturday after a short illness.
The genuine character of the racing world rode Light Fingers to a Melbourne Cup victory and two years later Saluted with Red Handed, over his 30 year career Mr Higgins clocked up 2300 wins including 108 Group One races.
Marc would love his charge to take out the inaugural tribute race with a prize pool of $150,000 up for grabs.
Pentasia comes into this event second up from a 7 of 7 last time out at Canterbury, but Marc has kept the 6-yo mare ticking over from that effort at the end of January, with two trial wins one at Port and the other at Taree respectively.
Distance wise Pentasia has had 9 cracks at the 1200m for 3 x wins 3 x seconds and a third with earnings of $226,220 in the wallet.
