The Marc Quinn stables will make the trip down the highway to Canterbury Park in a night meeting on Friday, October 24 with fine conditions currently rating the track a good three with the rail out 6 m the entire circuit.
The sole runner for the Quinn Yard will come out in race five at 9:00 p.m. in the St George Motor Boat Club handicap over 1100 m with stable runner First Class To Rio getting her opportunity to race in metropolitan town class with Taylor Marshall to ride on the limit of 54 kg jumping from barrier 2 in a field of 11.
First Class To Rio is a five-year-old mare having start number 11 with three wins and four placings earning prize-money in excess of $42,000, she has raced competitively this preparation with the last two runs being at Port, the first of which on September 28 over 1206m, landing the prize in a field of 11 in a BM 60 with Andrew Adkins aboard finishing half a length in front of her nearest rival in a time of 1:13.02 with the last 600m in 35.12.
She then contested an 1100 meter event in a BM 65 on October 10 when ridden by Adkins finishing 1st of 10 (.02 Length) when travelling better than midfield throughout the event to score the prize in a time of 1:06.26 with the last 600m in 34.41.
