Towkash To Tackle 2100 Metres On Monday At Lismore

Oct 19, 2014

The Marc Quinn racing team will supply one runner at this stage to the Lismore turf club meeting on Monday, October 20 with fine conditions delivering a good three track with the rail in the true position.

The soul runner for the team will come out in race five at 3:25pm in the Winning Post Function Centre class one combined maiden plate over 2100 with Towkash, an improving thoroughbred after his last 2 starts heading out with Alan Chau aboard jumping from barrier seven in a field of 12.

Towkash is a five-year-old gelding having had 13 starts in his career for earnings of $10,190, with recent efforts showing a third of 12 at Coffs Harbour on a slow 6 over 1900 m when ridden near the rear of the field to finish a head off the winner with a nice run to the line showing he was heading in the right direction, he is prepared for this outing via a Port Macqaurie run on October 14 over 2000 m when ridden by Alan Chau again at the rear of the field to run home in the concluding stages to finish second of 13 one and a half lengths from the winner in a time of 2:04.30 with the last 600mtrs in 36.6.

Any improvement on his last two runs should find him there about's when the whips are cracking, with the further 100mtrs seeming to be only beneficial.

The stable would like to wish connections the best of luck on Monday.
