Port To Host a Number Of Marc Quinn Runners On Thursday

Marc Quinn will stay local with five runners at this stage at Port on Thursday, January 1 with the track currently rated a heavy eight with fine conditions predicted.

The first of the stable runners Banknote Beau will come out in race one at 2:26pm in a maiden plate over 1106 m with Andrew Adkins aboard jumping from barrier nine in a field of nine.

Banknote Beau is a three-year-old chestnut gelding having start number one with recent trials at Port and Taree landing a fourth of five over 1006m and a first of 10 over a 1000m respectively.

Marc will send out the first starter in blinkers for the first time with owner and breeder Mr Anderson keen on seeing how Banknote Beau will step out first time in race silks.

The second stable runner for the team Zinging will head out in race 2 at 3:06 PM in an F and M maiden plate over 1106 m with Andrew Adkins aboard jumping from barrier seven in a field of 10.

Zinging is a three-year-old chestnut Filly having start number five with the last three runs delivering three seconds for connections and prize-money in excess of $9000, the past three runs were all at Port Macquarie finishing second of 12 over 1106 m second of 14 over 1200 m and second of 13 over 1200m, last time out finishing 4.3 lengths behind the winner when ridden by Andrew Adkins in a race time of 1:12.62.

The third runner for the team will come out in race 4 in a BM 53 handicap over 2012 m with Towkash to be ridden by Alan Chau jumping from barrier nine in the field of nine.

Towkash is a five-year-old gelding having started on seven occasions with one win and four placings earning prize-money in excess of $16,000, recent runs have been over 2000 m with the first at Port finishing second of 14 ridden by Allan Chau, going down narrowly on that occasion by a nose in a race time of 2:06.27 and was last seen at Taree on December 9 finishing eight of 12 with Allan aboard landing 5.1 lengths behind the winner in a race time of 2:05.40.

Race 6 at 5:45pm will see two Marc Quinn runners vie for the prize in a class one handicap over 1206 m with the first of those runners Our Ruby Rose to be ridden by Allan Chau jumping from barrier 12 wearing saddle cloth eight and Thiltre third up from a spell to be ridden by Andrew Adkins jumping from a wide gate.

Our Ruby Rose is a four-year-old mare having start number 10 with one win and two placings earning prize-money in excess of $14,000, she trialed  recently at Taree on December 9 over a thousand metres finishing 7.1 lengths off the winner in a heat time of 59.86 and was last seen at Port on December 15 finishing 14 of 14 with Andrew Gibbons the pilot landing 13.2 lengths behind the winner in a race time of 1:12.23.

Marc has altered the gear for this outing by removing the crossover nose band and adding winkers again.

The final runner Thiltre is a three-year-old chestnut Filly having start number nine with one win and two placings earning prize-money in excess of $19,000 she recently trialed at Taree finishing seven of seven on December 9 when ridden by Adkins finished 7.6 lengths off the heat winner and was last seen at Taree on December 21 finishing third of 9 over 1250m with Adkins again the pilot landing 2.4 lengths behind the winner in a race time of 1:15.32.
